French last names are obtained from four significant sources, which are patronymic (ex. Magne), locations (ex. Fitzroy), occupations (ex. Mercier is a trader), and nicknames for a person?s physical features (ex. Moreau means dark complexion).
The prices on our French family crest products are much lower than our competition. You could own your very own Jacques family crest today or get one for a family member!
Our Jacques family crest features heraldic devices drawn by hand and vectorized to prevent loss of resolution.
Bear in mind that coats of arms (or family crests as they are sometimes incorrectly referred to as) belong to individual people and not surnames themselves. All of these coats of arms are based on real and actual historical reference material. Note that although heraldry is not an exact science, we have done our very best to be as accurate as possible in creating these coats of arms. If you have concerns or want to learn more, please see our FAQ section to read more about how we determined which coat of arms to use, and what historical materials were used to design these coats of arms.
Please note that the term "family crest" is a misnomer. The crest is actually a portion of the coat of arms. It refers to the region above helmet that is on top of the shield, which often depicts beasts. Our coats of arms have omitted the crest portion of the arms.
